Diets Don’t Work! Don’t believe the Hype ‘cuz exercises don’t work either!

The messages are everywhere.  “Don’t diet, exercise!”  “Walk 20 minutes a day, 3 days per week.”  “Fat’s okay, as long as you live a healthy lifestyle!”  Well . . .I don’t wanna exercise and I don’t wanna be fat!!  These messages are the sour grapes of dieting failures and a load of bull**t at best!  They serve only one purpose . . . to DE-MOTIVATE You.  I’m sorry, if you have never been a runner, a hiker, a biker choosing this concept of a “healthy lifestyle” will leave you with a dusty treadmill, a well oiled and unused bicycle, some awesome and very clean jogging shoes, an empty bank account, a broken spirit and not to mention the long term effects of high-impact exercise on our joints.

Am I talking to you yet?  Oh yes… bust out the calendar and plan that 4am wake up call to get up out of your warm and cozy bed just to slip on cute little jogging suit you picked up at Marshalls.  So the waistline is a little tight, you tell yourself, “If I stick to my 4am wake up call, I’ll be fitting into this in no time.”  Yea….right, who are you fooling?  It’s only a matter of time, what 2-3 weeks of that, when you just say to yourself, “Forget it . . .I’ll give the suit to Lucy…I’m going back to sleep! Zzzzzzzzz
